Weijie's 1st update from Boston!

Hallo!!

I'm back after quite a while..=p been busy with a lot of things since things have been decided..and wow..can't believe that I am in Boston now. It all began 6 months ago when I got that email... ...haha but i'm sure you will not want me to tell the whole story here and I can't remember the details of the series of events that happened since..Haha i better update my blog a bit before school work starts kicking in tmr! =)

The fact is..I'm now in Boston! where everything is different from what I have seen since young..starting from the basic concept of day and night (jetlag!), super-sized food portions (I hope I'll never get used to it or else..super-sized weijie u'll see in a few years..=p), baseball craze (support the red sox!), all the technology experience, flexibility of the systems here..etc etc. I have barely recovered from all the culture shock that I have received since I arrived from day 1. I have to admit I'm a 'mountain turtle' who went Wow woW WAH when I was in New York. =p I am looking forward to more travelling if possible during the winter break..my first official Fall and Winter seasons coming up real soon. I'm very excited! =D

Hallo!
here's a short post of my bdae this yr..I ate so much for my birthday this yr..haha too much until i'm a bit put off by food today (yesh..hao nan de right..)..been indulging in sashimi, beef, ice-cream and cakes especially! basically all the high calories food yea. haha gave me the motivation to go gym~ finally. =p It started on saturday with the stayover at mh's and persisted until today. i'm quite sure I can feel that my stomach has been steadily expanding these days. haha but im definitely not trying to complain here..coz i really did enjoy every single bite and moment. my 24th anniversary on earth had been great! all thanks to u, u, u and U! and many many more! Thank you soooo much for making my birthday this year so memorable and "stomach-ful" ..haha arigato for all the smses, calls, well wishes, my wish-list prezzies and of coz..all the yummy finger-licking good food~ it really heart-warming to know that there're pple like ur who remembered and cared. THANK YOU!! ..for making this day so special to me..=D haha so here's a glimpse..din take many food photos unfortunately..was too busy eating. =p

Finally!! Emerge 2008 is over!! Woohoo..I was both so touched and happy when it all ended..months worth of hard work, sweat, blood n tears (as how mark has so aptly put it)..im alr missing our weekly practices..the xiong practices at sheares band room and in front of the "hall of mirrors"..2am cheesy chicken supper (yummy!)..practising thru the night till 4am..it's really tiring..both mentally n physically. really. lack of slp n everything. but after the performance on thur..every moment of practice was worth it! we really enjoyed ourselves a lot during the performance and that's all tat matters. everything came so naturally and before i realised it was already our last note and final pose. the music and sound were superb coz it's held at mos. it's my bestest experience so far..great job guys! we really did well!! i cant wait to see the video! =D for those who came down to support despite it being a thur night..thanks!!! daddy, hunny, yinky, yq, sq, mh, hui..arigato!! ur presence really made my night! =D hahaha too bad if u missed it....=p haha n now im experiencing post-performance syndrome (PPS)..though i was initially looking forward to more rest time after thur..nvm. looking forward to our big makan! =)

maybe it's partly due to the practices..im kept very busy for the last few weeks n lost track of time..it's already april next week! time flies double the speed when u're exceptionally busy. paiseh to frens whom i've not been meeting up much with..will try my best to meet up more k! =D haha april is an exciting month to look forward to..because i've got lots of training programmes and ... etc etc. haha yup lo. work's getting more on track and im gaining back my momentum..which was once lost right after my fyp..unfortunately.

yay!! big big announcement! i've finally left nus for the greener pasture..or so i chose to believe. but i somehow have this feeling that i'll be back there someday. well..nobody knows. being in a new place, knowing new people and learning new things perk me up. so it's still green now. =D CNY this year had been most boring..coz there's not a single visit to my dad's side..where all the purpose of CNY lies. or does CNY still hold any purpose at all..but it's great that i can have a long long rest over the festive season. haha n i'm glad i'm not the only bored one. i'm sure next year things will brighten up. well. maybe i should not pin so much hope yet. =p issie came back for the festive season..happy that we get to meet more this time round though we din get to go prince this yr..if only she can stay a bit longer. planned to send her off today but well..nvm. bon voyage issie! cya soon again! i'll miss u..=) hee n i've successfully stayed away from alcohol for the past 1 month! yay. big achievement. n an impt announcement: there'll be a performance by voices this coming march 27th, thur, at MOS. if you're interested can ask me for more details. the tixs cost ard $18 each. i'll be putting up a small item with my group that night. so do come if you can make it k! =) haha realised my entry is a bit random coz too many things but they're all over the place..well guess that's all for now. i'm so full that i can barely move..back to reading journals! =)

i juz realised how strong my fren is..trust me for not knowing until now. u're really strong. compared to u..the problems i'm facing are not problems at all. wat have i been doing? suddenly it dawned upon me that i've always been creating "problems" for myself. how dumb. we sld all really sit down and count our blessings everyday. life isn't tat bad after all. =D

finally..my 1st post of the yr! yay! haha unfortunately it's gng to be like any other post..nope not gng to make this special. sorry to disappoint. =p 2008 has been "es geht's" so far..juz need to prepare myself for a couple of changes. major changes. last week was horrible really..coz of the heavy workload. but considering it'll be my very last collection (my 5th collection) with the genetics gang..it's not tat bad after all. we had fun playing with those salivas. haha. =p i'm gng to miss everybody. even my boss. i hope. thanks ramani, pallavi, joshua for working hard tog with me these 2 yrs..thanks boss for pushing me when my engine broke down every now and then..thanks chongwei for all his fatherly naggings and tolerating my blurrrness..thanks jenn (my xiaomei) for being such a wonderful pal! =D It feels weird though, or more of being emotionally unbalanced..to be physically there in the last few meetings and knowing at the back of my mind that I won't be involved in all the future discussions anymore. something definitely worth rejoicing about. haha. had been looking forward to the end of jan but when it's near..i start to panick. haha i'm human afterall. =) lalala~been wondering wat to do during cny..coz this yr will not be able to pay visits and do the normal cny stuff. my uncles r all away in bangkok shopping..wat shall we do..hmm..dunno yet. haha been having roller-coaster mood swings lately..bad bad..it's really time to pack up and throw away old stuff for the coming rat yr! my yr! haha oops. yup i'm 24 this yr. how old..=p

Hallo! Ich komme zurueck! 2007 is coming to an end soon so here I am to make an official curtains down to this eventful year. Full of ups and downs. more than the previous years. But I’ve gained so much more than I lost. Much much more. Thanks to all my dearest friends and family, it’s again because of all of you that 2007 is going to end on a happy note. Haha it’s pretty cliché but really..Thank you for always being there for me. u all know who u r la..danke!! =) I was tidying up my photos when I realized that I really took a lot of photos this year! All my trips and late nites out. Hee I muz conclude that it wasn’t such a bad year after all..if only grandpa is still ard..miss him..our monthly weekend dinners..but I believe he’s always watching us..with grandma. Argh..okok..this is supposed to be a happy entry weijie..2008 will be better, I know. =)

hahaha finally got a moment or two to take a deep breath before i begin my next lap.
these 2 weeks have been crazy. the green carnival, khatib and mini concert performances plus my hectic mass collection weeks plus plus my gre. it's really mad rush. need time for everything. n finally...it's all over. haha although i cant say im very pleased with my performances esp the one at khatib coz it's really cui. my gre too..din manage to do as well as i wanted to. but at least from all the experiences in these few weeks, i have learnt that confidence plays a very important role in whatever i do. once my confidence is shaken due to lack of practice or juz simply thinking that im lousy and cmi, tat's it. period. but well, i shall learn from my experiences and not repeat them ever again!! n for today's concert, thanks so much for making the effort to come bro! it's a pleasant surprise really. =) haha im very very happy tat it's all over. n...im in the main comm for nxt yr's emerge!! yay!! haha..looking forward to it..i wanna sing more..loads to improve upon. =)
k now for my next lap, i would need even more stamina and energy to carry on. the mundane stuff, the official stuff and the loose ends. hmm. wish me all the best k! =D

phew..these 2 weeks had been looong. the genetics gang is conducting a mass collection and with only 5 of us..limited manpower and limitless samples, it's been ot nearly everyday. but it's fun to meet up and chitchat with old frens when they came by to volunteer their saliva (some of whom no longer recognise me! *stunned* =O) haha so basically these few weeks had been hectic. n tat explains y i haven been blogging much..ever since..gosh..the 10km run!?! =p shall update ur all abt it when i finish all the stuff at hand. hee now taking time off studying for my gre, which is going to take place next fri!! *blinkblink* yes. i really have got lots of stuff to do, to think abt, to plan, to practise for..can't wait to see the video taken today at the green carnival and laugh my head off at myself! hope they upload real soon..hee..=p

It's Friday!!! =)
woke up today feeling blurblur, ask mum and realised tat it's true. i ain dreaming. wow. but it's time to start dreaming and do sth to make them come true.
boss came to take photos of staff in lab today, haha and i realised there're so many other staff who i dunno, have nv seen them before. conclusion: im a.s. =p before boss went off he reminded me tat samples coming in today at 3+pm. there're more samples this week than last week. haha friday is ot day. =) the weekend is coming once again, and once again it's fully packed. sometimes i really wish for a lazy weekend at home doing nothing. *dream* hee but im looking forward to this weekend! immer so. shall update again soon! =D

hallo!
finally got myself to run this morning after procrastinating for sooooooo long...feels gd to sweat it out without the sun burning my skin. so..morning run is still the best. =) been eating a lot lately, especially after tat fateful "big fish big meat" week. well still, lots of things happened in august..but at last now i am more back in tune and control again.

some recent events..gongong's left us..but i believe he'll always be watching over us somewhere up there with granny. =) issie's back from the states! this time back with her hubby. i'm so happy for her! haha but she almost fainted when i asked her when she's going to have kids for me to play with. hee. imagine a small issie running about..so cute!! =D and bro's away in turkey for his conference finally..after making me awfully jealous for the past few months. hope he remember to bring back some coffee beans for me. or else....haha..=p hunny's "booked in" ytd night as usual, and i'm sure she agrees with me tat the dinner was yummy!! right?? *nodsnods* both literally and erm..u know. let's go back there again nxt week k? =)

it's the 7th mth now and i've accompanied my mum to some getais recently. haha i muz say that i pretty much enjoyed them so far. not to say my mum. getais have evolved a bit in the recent years. no longer as vulgar as i tot and remember. 600 is really humorous la..=) although most of the songs are v ulu to me, it's an experience i wun wanna miss. oh yes!! we also watched the spanish and china's fireworks during the last 2 weekends! personally i prefer china's firework display. haha maybe coz i was sitting right in the middle of the viewing platform for tat sat night..the view the simply spectacular! v v pretty. i'll see if i can upload the videos i took and share with ur k. anyone knows how pls enlighten me coz im erm..v bad at this. =)

last fri was extremely packed. but i finally met up with my buddies, mel and lisa. haha i've been a really poor host so far..=p at first i was rather apprehensive, worried that there may be "cold scenes"..but no! my worries were totally uncalled for. they're v v nice pple. we ate at paulaner brauhaus and the food is so-so but super ex. an apfelsaft which cost $8.50. haha k maybe i was too dense for ordering apfelsaft there. the weissbier tiramisu is so-so. overrated. i wanna make my own tiramisu...so far the best tat i've tried is homemade by xy's mum..muz be some secret recipe. =) heard some juicy news from tudi..u ar, kept me in the dark for so long..=p haha but congrats tudi! shifu's happy for u..=) met up with my jc mates too! haha it's like an annual ktv event, where we'll get together when sy or issie's back from the states. but it's a pity tat i cld not stay for long..the turnout was pretty gd~ u did a gd job organising, sq! =) it's getting hard to meet up with frens lately coz everybody's (including me..haha..) v v busy with work and school and stuff so i really do treasure the times we meet. gambatte everyone! =)

haha k la tat's abt all i can rem for now..time to work! this week's going to be eventful as well. i muz keep running! for my 10km dream to come true. =D

August is here! =)
it's a month of anticipation for me as it always has been. except for this yr there's a spoonful of trepidation as well. It's hard to see him getting weaker and weaker each day..both physically and mentally. and more so when i realised the day to say goodbye is looming. time seem to be speeding at its 5th gear nowadays..friday's here before i realised mon-thur were over! maybe..the more i want to hold on to time, the faster time will slip through my fingers.

oh no..haha my blog seems to be under depression lately..well..i will stay optimistic and hopefully things will get better! =D

一棵大树的故事

很久很久以前，森林里有一棵大树，大树上住着很多动物。大树枝叶茂盛，每逢佳节，森林里的动物都喜欢来到大树下集合，游戏。似乎已经成了一种习惯。有一天，大树生病了。树医们都束手无策。最后大树的叶子落光了，剩下的只是一棵毫无生气的树。渐渐的，动物们都不再来了，没了集合，各自过着自己的生活。虽然树医有定时给大叔服药，但大树始终没有再长出叶子。直到有一天，大树生病了，一场突如其来的大病，让他再也无法吸取营养，身子一天一天的消瘦了。这时，动物们才又注意到了大树，并给他最好的照顾和看护。前来探望大树便成了大家的习惯，集合的次数也增加了，仿佛又回到了从前。唯一不同的事，叶子已不在..大树的时间也剩下不多了。

外面正在下着毛毛细雨....

我曾经拥有一把自己很喜欢的粉红小雨伞。因为它很轻便，所以放在包包里带着它出门很方便。有一天，小雨突然不见了。我到处找寻，却始终都找不到。小伞不见了，世界并没有任何的改变....就只是感觉包包轻了一点，空了一些。是否应该买把一模一样的伞，来添补那空缺呢？我始终没有。日子一天一天的过去了，而我对小伞的思念也一点一点的减少了。有些时候甚至会忘了它曾经存在过。只是每当一下起雨，看着路人都打着自己心爱的伞，就会让我又想起那把遗失的小伞。

眼看雨季就快到了，也许....是时候买把新伞了。

weijie has officially graduated!

I had my commencement ytd! yes weijie has finally graduated!! =D though the actual ceremony started at 10 in the morning..u can still spot me at UCC at 10pm. For me it was really a fruitful, memorable, fulfilling and tiring day! =) There was a mad rush in the morning..as usual for weijie..=p Apart from my family, my ah ma and sis bf also came for the ceremony. but sis bf had to leave before I can take a photo with him. schade. haha but we took loads of photos at UCC, from inside to outside and outside to inside..almost all corners of UCC covered! haha..=p I dun really like the mortar board cap though..coz it makes me look sooo....weird~ but well..had to wear it most of the time coz I was told that I will look "more complete" with it. sigh. no choice. haha. prefer the phd's caps much much more..they all look like harry potter! haha so cute..=D It was pretty disappointing that some of my frens' ceremony are at different times of the day..that explains y I'm still stuck in UCC at 10pm..hehe partly it's for the food too..the eclairs taste too good. =p i hereby declare eclairs and milk pudding are my fav! =)

We went for studio shots ytd too, were all sleeping in the car as my dad drove us there..too tired..took a few family and indiv shots there. The cameraman kept asking us to smile..esp me..coz I guess I'm more of forcing a smile..juz woke up from sleep..too tired la..haha hope the shots dun turn out too bad..=p

At night I met up with my other relatives..who were very very happy to see me finally graduate! haha it was unbelievable tat at 11+pm I got into the mood for more photo-taking again, and we took a couple more shots tog! it turned out to be one of the best photo-taking sessions for the entire day..they were truly warm and joyous congrats from their hearts. I can feel it. thank you thank you..=D special thanks especially to hunny and yinky..ur really helped me a lot..haha so much for having such a blur queen for ur sis ya...=p muz give extra credit to hunny for being the"official" photographer of the day! haha dun fall asleep during work today hor. =) and mum & dad too..esp dad, he drove us around the whole day! muz be really tired..hope i've made ur proud. luv ya all..=)

working weijie

hallo!! im here for a little update before i slp..=)
been v busy lately with all kinds of stuff. I've started working since last week and work has not been piling up as yet. but im feeling tired..I suppose I'm experiencing some kind of post-graduate syndrome thingey..still not in the working mode. haha boss..i need more work to do! gimme more work k? =) but good thing that my lab seniors have been very helpful and nice. heh i hope to get into the working stream real soon! =)

oh ya! my commencement is coming nxt wed 4th july!! finally..im looking forward to it! my granny and grandpa will be there too! i'll post up the photos i promise..=D haha it's so horrifying to see myself gain all those weight these days..shall cut down on those suppering and ice creams..i'll try to. =p

been to the children's home at clementi over the weekend..and they're so hyper-active! especially the boys..it's really not easy to calm them down..took us lots of time and effort..before they start to run about again! haha and we had to chase after them and carry them back..though it's tiring but i find it worthwhile and i hope they enjoyed the short session we had as much as i did. haha but phew. wat a feat it was. =) we witnessed the closure of kallang stadium..it was qt meaningful as we went through the tunnel of time and arrive back in 1970s, when the stadium was first built. saw videos of sportsmen and women who won glory for singapore back then. the fireworks that night wasn't too spectacular though..*disappointed* hope it'll be better on national day! =)

I went for the milk run 2007 with hunny and hui and i'm proud to announce tat we finished the run! or rather walk coz it was too crowded to run. but still we were all drenched with sweat after the run. =) met an old fren qq who happens to be hunny's fren! haha singapore is sooo small.. =)

i need to sleep more and do some shopping.. .. ..

my taiwan trip updates...at last!

been so long since i last blogged abt my hk trip..yeah im simply lazy ever since I'm back from my 12-days taiwan trip. until now. There're so many things i wanna share with all of you, so many experiences, so many lessons learnt. but it's impossible to put down all of them in words. many things are meant to be experienced and felt. though it's real tiring travelling everyday and night..yes we literally 上山下海. the pple we met there from all walks of life have different perspectives of life and culture. im really glad to meet each and every one of them. esp our dearest 姚先生. we all miss u! =) thanks jiayan and sher for making this trip as memorable as it can possibly be. i'll be back!! for 玉山, 原住民，the sunsets, sunrises, pacific ocean, sunflowers, pearl tea, taiwan beer, 小米酒 and my all-time fav 臭豆腐! =D

there're so many different kinds of yummy food in taiwan! nv fail to surprise me. =)

the range of milk tea they have there is unbelievable! oh and the gals there..they're all so pretty and fair..or rather, white. everyday we will go "wow" when we see them..u wun believe until u see them! white as sheet. no kidding.

The 3 of us at Party World @ Ximending!! the ktv room is so cool and spacious~ heh we even had a toilet of our own..and the sound system is like..WOW! haha although we slept at 4 and woke up at 7, we had real fun k-ing!! =)

Shopping along miaokou night market at Keelung. The food there is yummy...but it's very crowded and u'll need lots of patience to get the food you want.

Having tea at Jiufen while enjoying the fine scenery around us..but the service there can be further improved though..

Our dear Mr Yao with his fatherly smile..and the cab which was our home for the 6-days road trip from taipei to taitung to tainan to taichung and back to taipei. i highly recommend him to anyone going Taiwan in the near future. he's v professional. =)

hallo!!
im back from hongkong!! this is my second trip to hongkong but no two trips are the same coz with different seasons and different pple it's different. this time round the purpose of the trip is to 买东西吃东西买东西吃东西..haha got so many yummy pictures to share! =)

We really ate and walked a lot a lot this time round! hunny and i walked to and fro along nathan road from tst to jordan to ymt to mongkok and back for dunno how many times! (lost counts..=p) even very late at night (after midnight), we can still see pple walking in and out of dessert shops and japanese restaurants!! it's so happening! the pple there really can eat a lot..to my surprise..or so it seems..but we saw some gals with more than half of their noodles leftover in a cha can ting juz as we were wondering how they can eat so much without gaining those fats..oh and the pple there are really efficient, too efficient in my opinion..haha reckon tat coming from a singaporean! =p the waiters in the cha can ting especially are constantly in high alert mode..once they sense tat u're abt to finish eating, they will be prepared to clear the table ..and this makes me feel somewhat stressed..pple there eat and juz go off..they dun sit there drink tea and chitchat. stressed. but the food there are very good though. esp the desserts. yummy!! =D hence it is not surprising at all that we became rounder and rounder with each passing day...=p

got to meet up with michelle and xiaoyan in hk too! ate at a nice cosy jap restaurant..it's great to meet them again after so long. glad to see that they're doing well. =)

Introducing..the village of Stanley!! We love the place, the pple and the shopping. hee. =) it's a real pretty quiet little village with a nice bay to walk along. it's a pity i din get to catch the beautiful sunset on top of the hill..i'll definitely go back there again once i got my hiking gear ready! =D

hee i'm definitely looking forward to a third trip there!! =)

It's raining again..n i realised april has creeped in silently. the rain somehow brought back lots of memories.. =) It's been a year since my SEP..rem last yr today when I just arrived at Studentenstadt, feeling lost yet excited abt wat lies ahead. It was snowing back then..april snow. got all of us (heh ok..at least me and ling la..) very excited! I wonder how's the place now..will it still snow in april this year? how i miss the snow scene from my room back then..

March is finally coming to an end. After a mad rush during the last two weeks..im still trying to meet deadlines. seems never-ending all these work. but I know it's only one more month before I'll be free again..=) haha I predict the month of April is going to be longer and harder to endure..but i will make it through..Not been in a good shape/mood lately, coz haven been getting quality sleep and doing much exercise. and it's awful when obviously sth is not right but you dun know wat it is. it feels worse den a fishbone stuck in my throat. how can I pretend nth is wrong and not worry..haiz. think I think and worry too much la. any prescription to cure worry?? help.
dunno since when weekends have became like any other weekdays. the only thing im looking forward this weekend..hunny has been away for 5 days and she's coming back today evening..at last..hope she had great fun shopping and eating in hk. haha hope she dun complain tat she has grown fatter..=p cya very soon!

it's March!
time passes real fast with all the festive holidays in the past 2 mths. cny was fun! with all the visiting and snacking and mahjong-ing. the week was well-spent indeed. =D haha but tat leaves only 1 month left to tidy up my fyp and write up my thesis. 1 month. no results yet. too many confounding variables present. i better do sth instead of waiting..i can expect this month to be a v v busy month with all the datelines and projects and presentation. juz got news that my lab presentation has been brought forward to 15th..which is like in 2 weeks' time!! AH...=S

haha this week juz simply flew past me! =O
i had a v singaporean weekend, with inigo visiting us! =) brought him to lots of places in 3 days..places which i being a singaporean have not been to for so long! =p we ate a lot of singaporean food too! =D it was really enjoyable, having a fren from afar coming to our homeland. it's thru bringing him around that i realised there's still so much abt singapore tat im not sure of..*guilty* =p hope inigo had as much fun as i did over the weekends! though the sun had been literally blazing..burning hot! heh but i guess for him it feels like he's back to spain in summer..a long-awaited getaway from freezing cold japan. got to meet up with our wak wak villagers too! glad to know tat everyone's doing fine. ha..i really miss our village! =)
chinese new year is finally here! as well as our mid-term break! but isit really a break..hmm..haha nvm it's the cny! so we sld juz keep our work aside for a couple of days and enjoy the festive season! but of coz we all know tat "sth" will always be at the back of our minds while we enjoy..haha =) i can foresee myself gaining at least a few kilograms..have already started to snack on bak kuas n pineapple tarts!! cant help it..they're so yummy!! hee..=)
happy chinese new yr everyone! enjoy the new year goodies, but dun eat too much else..will have a hard time losing those fats after the festive season. the same goes for myself..if i remember. =p

haha it's finally wed! hmm..on one hand i wish that the week will juz pass quickly but on the other hand i wish that April will never come. hee..both of which are impossible. so im wishing for the impossible's impossible. glad that im still on schedule. hopefully everything ends well n good.

i was looking forward to today for the whole week coz my fren invited me to this live band concert in sch! it's really cool..watching the pple perform and sing. the vocalist was great, her voice was soo soothing..so was the drummer! esp the drummer, she's so cool! make me feel like learning drums..haha..but i've no talent in drums i guess.. hand-leg coordination fail tat kind ya. =p enjoyable evening..nice music and company. but the place a bit..haha it was held at lt27 in science. erm..reminds me of those sad sat mornings back in year 1 when i've to come back to school for organic chem lectures in this lecture hall ..ha..=S
everyone seems to be v busy nowadays..haha so am i la. take care k pple..drink more water n eat more fruits! haha im trying to do tat myself. =p

ha..was qt disappointed tat the gathering tmr has to be cancelled. coz everyone can't seem to make it last min. hate this. gives me the feeling that no one's taking it seriously. but the play today evening really cheered me up a lot..enjoyed it on the whole. can see the effort n hard work put into it. cast, backstage n producer. it's the whole lot of pple which made the play possible. heh great performance by lynn esp. =) as usual, i had a really great sat!! now i'm looking forward to nxt weekend when inigo's coming!! counting down already..haha =)
n tmr's the finals of the ASEAN cup. the Lions muz jiayou and get the cup this year again!! though i cant be there physically, i'll be rooting for u! they've done it before and i believe they'll do it again. =)

I had listed down a couple of things to be done by the end of Jan and I'm glad I'm not tat far off before Feb is finally here. =) I'm both looking forward, yet fearful of Feb. looking forward to the chinese new year! where I can once again eat loads gd goodies without feeling tat guilty..=p n fearful coz it's another 2 months before my final poster (2/4) n thesis (11/4) is due. =( My fyp is progressing but there's still a lot yet to be done, esp the analysis part which will i believe be taking me at least 1 month. so i better jiayou!! same goes to all of u doing ur fyp..Gambatte zusammen!! =)

last weekend had a great time though..morning went to xl's place to make love letters (egg rolls?)!! it was really an eye opener using the traditional charcoal way. It's not easy really, take lots of effort, sweat and patience and of coz talent..erm..which i unfortunately lack..=p xj was good for a first-timer and xl was best! she's so skilled and fast! =) most of the time i did the rolling part, which was not easy too k..=p it was so fun! we made some pineapple tarts too, the pineapple was super fresh! made from real pineapples!! yummy..shall post up some pictures of our end-products sometime soon! haha. =p met up with grandpa for dinner and we had a v v sumptous jap meal..yummy! most importantly..i got to drink my sake! haha n i made everyone drink a bit, including my sistas..yinky simple loved it! but hunny erm..haha u sld have seen her expression..dun think she enjoys the taste..=) after which we all went to the kallang stadium to catch the semi-finals of singapore vs malaysia match! the atmosphere was v high by the time we reached as singapore had just scored a goal! it's really a different feeling watching ur country's team play..u really wld support them with all ur heart. and when they won, the kind of happiness is so..u know..=)

been wondering abt my grad trip..coz frens has been asking me abt it. going to japan for grad trip may be a bit too...extravagant n unaffordable. so trying to see wat other options i have..maybe taiwan or australia. any ideas? haha i shall see how it goes. =)

bad lab week

it's the 2nd week of sch but it certainly feel like ages since sch started. haha maybe coz the day is getting longer n longer. n the stress level is building up exponentially. been busy with lab these days so din have time to blog. this week was pretty bad for me, think it's my worst so far. i keep having to repeat n redo stuff due to some funny reasons. hence im still stuck at the same stage. no progress. hunny says i dun have enuf sleep tat's y..maybe i sld sleep more. =p n i received a bad bad news..the lab will only be open on weekdays office timings..so i cant come back during weekends to finish my work..all snow-balled till next week. N next week's my presentation!!! no data to present yet..better go dig. =p im beginnning to appreciate my lab mates more..another new guy came in this week, from india too. so it's 3:1. boss likes to recruit pple from india i realised..=)

ok..enough of lab ramblings..tok abt some joyous stuff. chinese new yr is coming!! haha in less than a month's time. ever since last yr, cny has been not tat fun n meaningful anymore. we used to gather as a big big family for reunion dinner but things have been different since grandma passed away. well..some things are juz not the same anymore. okok back to some happy stuff before i end off..today is friday!!! =D it's the weekend again! well, n someone's leaving for hk tmr for meeting cum fun (but i believe he'll be playing harder den he'll work..=p). haha have fun n bon voyage! =)

haha finally did one right thing! my fren was asking me for a nice place to bring the gal he was interested in on christmas day..n i suggested mount faber jewel box coz i always wanted to go there..heard it's a great place. n he won the girl's heart finally!! after much effort all these years..so happy for him!! heard that the cable car ride was romantic..so pple (esp guys)..here's a bonus for reading my blog..if u're looking for a gd place to bring someone u like..hmm..this might be a v gd idea! haha im really v v happy for them!! can't contain my exploding joy!! =D seems like sometimes it's not how much u do but rather the right things that u do. recently i've this feeling of 吃力不讨好..did a lot but all the wrong things so adds up to nothing. something i muz change..coz i tend to be qt extreme..if there're things i wanna do well, i'll give it my 101%. this is me. but i guess sometimes too much is not gd.."too much of anything is poison." i shall remember this. =) well guess i really did the right thing this time..love this feeling..=)

supposed to bake today with my backpacking frens! but coz of lab cant make it..the machine's starting to give problems recently..n the senior lab officer isn't v helpful as well. but no choice since we're using other lab's machine..寄人篱下..haha my lab too poor to own one. cant imagine.. it costs $70000! =O
last weekend before school starts again. but no plans..sld be staying hm. finally it's the final semester. i'm looking forward to it! =)

here's an update on wat i have been up to after my exams. hmm..basically nothing!! haha..i feel v v guilty to say this but i muz confess that i haven been going back to my lab since dunno when. all my frens went back to lab right after their exams..which really stress me. but well..i did not go back at all last week. =( this week cant afford to mia liaoz. have to start work! so how did i spend my week? well i spent most of my time shopping around singapore. been such a long time since i seriously shop. pple who shopped with me knows..im one big window-shopper. it's high time to quit tat and buy some stuff for myself. so this week mainly doing shopping and meeting up with frens. was v happy to be able to meet my pipa jiemeis! heh we're going to have our annual xmas dinner n im definitely looking forward to it! n of coz xl's birthday party as well! happening dec. guess it's going to pass real fast again.
been thinking a lot lately abt my future. pondering over certain stuff. but somehow still cant get an answer. perhaps somethings r juz meant to be so. perhaps i should not try to force things. perhaps i should juz let things happen naturally. some things r juz meant to be. like i always believe..wat's urs will definitely come back to you someday, if it doesn't..den maybe it wasn't meant to be. haha but given my stubborn nature i'll tend to fight hard for it and make sure things does happen..but..i guess sometimes things cant be helped. sort of changed my focus and direction in life. hopefully im doing the right thing this time..i believe i am. =)
been doing quite some organising stuff this hols..wah really not an easy job. pple muz learn to appreciate organisers. i shall try my very best to attend gatherings..coz i've learnt to appreciate pple's efforts in organising them. arigato!

it was such a day. i went back home early, had dinner and off i went to my new hse. it was after i reach there that i realised i had nothing to do. hmm. my sister was studying n mum was resting. so me n yinky we simply slack there and watched dvd till 11pm. funny huh..haha both of us were like "what are we doing here?"..n my sis said i cheated her to come..no lo..i only tried to tempt her la..heh..xp haha act i juz wanted to see my newly painted room..some miscommunication there..coz the colour was not wat i wanted but..not bad la..shall not hiam. will change the colour to apple/pastel green 2 years later! =) den at 11pm we went back home (finally!!! =p) n cut the fruity birthday cake we got for mum. nice nice. and mum seem to like the bracelet we got for her. see, she's smiling so happily! hee..=D

ok..continue. hmm. n finally i had a company for lunch today!! haha sounds so despo ya..=p coz it has been a long long time since i had life sciences lectures hence din have the chance to meet up with frens these few weeks. it's always a happy thing to be able to dine n tok crap with frens. haha..=p st's off to redang tmr, im sure she'll have fun! hope i'll have the chance to go there one day too..heard tat it's v pretty there..sld be good for a chillout. =)
had meeting with affy pple n boss this afternoon to discuss results. the affy pple has been really helpful. taught me a lot of things. thanks pple!! =) hmm. boss seems v excited and happy after the discussion. so i am too! boss happy, weijie happy. haha. but tat wld mean more work for me..i can sense the weight already. i see never ending work ahead. but this time, im actually looking forward to doing them! =D
nxt mon new samples coming in..predict to be ard 200 samples. now im really glad there's the post-grad ard..finally i have help!! haha. cant imagine doing it again alone this semester coz i still got my 6 remaining chips to run and academic work to do. thanks in advance palliva! =)

time to blog abt some happy things! so sorry to have made my loved ones v worried last week..esp u hunny..sry abt tat..=)

had a great weekend. on fri met up with shun n we ate at taka's sushi tei. the food was great! it's so much better den sakae..=p but it's more ex la..naturlich..aber worth it! we tried sea urchin sushi, n we both agreed that's the first n last time. like how the germans see durians i guess..haha. juz dun like tat super raw taste. =S after tat we shopped till all the shops closed. been so long since i shopped. realised..i still enjoy shopping! =p

went to my new hse on sat n it definitely looked different from wat it looked the last time i was there. without all the funiture it looked much better, less complicated and of coz brighter. it's not tat bad after all. after all, no matter where we move..as long as we're all tog and everyone's happy, im happy. =)

i was at the paulauner oktoberfest on sunday. it's free flow beer!!! the germans were all happily drinking n they can really drink!! hmm..what abt me..erm..i only had like 1 beer n 1 radler (sprite+beer a.k.a shandy)..cant really drink a lot can i? =p the beer taste a little diluted la..but the food was pretty gut!! esp for a carnivore like me. it's simply heaven. loved the leberkase n wurst..yummy!!!! hehe..but again coz i was drinking as well..i din eat a lot la..but im happy to be able to taste german food again after 2 months..bring back all the memories. it's a pity most of the wak wak villagers couldn't make it..else im sure we'll have a great time there! =D

wat an eventful morning! went swimming this morning with shun, supposed to swim at src in school but but but..it was closed for cleaning on monday mornings. how zhun. so..in the end we went to her place. more privacy la, so it's better. we wun be tat ps..=p it has been 4 yrs since she last swam n she was pretty afraid of the pool initially..but..after trying for a few times to submerge herself n blow bubbles, she made it! no doubt that she was once in the school team..swim so fast! will be swimming again this wed morning! heh, luv swimming as always..shall plan more swimming trips n if my mum finally allow..i'll go dive, definitely will go! =)

sorry pple..looks like im be back for more complaining these days..coz i dunno who else i can complain to. pple might be too stressed by my complaints, but most of the times i need to let steam out else it'll burst. so pls bear with me for while..hopefully life gets back on track soon. my lab went terribly bad ytd. all my 2 weeks of hard labour went down the drain. i spilled my stuff and the pcr tube cracked..all my samples gone. heartache. cry.

i finally fully experience the meaning of "eat to live". dun even remember how the food taste like le. 5 min to walk to canteen, 5 min eat and 5 min walk back. felt tat i rushed for nothing..coz gel is still running..ha! feel kinda cheated but..oh well..this is the kind of experience i hope to enjoy only once in my life. things din go well today, one of my samples spilled out (due to my negligence) and i've to repeat the whole ganze 1-day procedure for that one sample. can i dun do....=p really cannot work on an empty stomach..coz nothing will go right. muz remind myself to bring daily supply of bread, biscuits n fruits coz the canteen is really too far..it gets further when im hungry..=S haha guess i would need a even bigger bag to carry all the food supplies (FYI my bag is already v v big). a bit kua zhang. =p

i've been dreaming these days..dunno it's a good sign or bad sign..sometimes i really wonder if im living now in reality or in my dreams. some dreams are just so wonderful that i simply dun feel like waking up. well..dreams are still dreams..maybe life is all but a dream. issie says i should be more happy. ya i know i should. but recently i feel qt down..maybe it's time for a break from the lab life. maybe im just tired of everything. coz my progress presentation is dangerously near, i dun deny im in a hurry to get some results and my fyp moving a bit faster. n this explains why im in lab everyday 7-6 including the hols..i muz say im not used to waking up so early in the morning..so i tried to slack a bit by going to school on wed in the afternoon instead..n..i end up leaving the lab at 8pm. well..im juz slow so guess have to wake up early no choice. haha reach hm so tired that i eat bathe chat to sis n slp. pretty much the same everyday. how i wish this is all a dream and i'll wake up soon..talking crap le..can hear the centrifuge machine beeping..summoning me to go collect my samples and continue working. stomach groaning..sigh..it's going to be lunch alone again..

aiyo..it's already towards the ending of the mid-term break..din really manage to do much this hols. seems worst den sch days coz i've to wake up at inhumane times like 6+am almost every morning! sleep is what i need most now..v v deprived. i've been stuck in lab for the past 2 days but at least i finally got some things moving. muz push myself more!! =) met up with one of my fren who's a teacher recently, really impressed by his passion for teaching. a v dedicated teacher indeed. n it makes me wonder..it seems that i have yet to find that burning passion. hmm.

i've been blogging more irregularly nowadays n it seem that most pple have forgotten abt my blog..=( my sis was like "huh? u mean u still update ur blog? i thought it was meant only for your SEP.. .." haha ya lo..i will try to maintain this blog, prevent it from collecting dust and spider webs here by updating every now n then. so..continue to come here every now n den for updates if interested to know wat i've been up to lately..hee..=)

hahaha i went to my first clubbing session with wt n h last sat at MOS! it was fun immersing myself in the loud music again and tat place certainly reminds me of 4004 in germany..there're 5 dance floors and I love esp the main dance floor, love it for the music they play! haha the three of us cant help but made our way to the dance floor! we had so much fun dancing with the rest of the crowd. =) the staff were friendly, the acoustics was fantastic and the atmosphere was great..and it just got better and better as the night goes on..we din stay there long though coz h was feeling a bit unwell and wt was a bit tipsy as usual..haha..=p

finally it's the mid-term break next week!! 1 whole week!!! no more lame "hol starts on sunday" theory..haha..the long awaited break..a time to stop and take a DEEP breath before continuing the final lap..but it would mean that the semester is coming to an end soon..n tat spells mid-term test, assignments, essay, project deadlines and last but not least..exams!!! been pretty troubled over my fyp lately..coz it seems tat i've been doing the same old thing over n over again for like..thousands of times?? no kidding..i really am handling lots of samples so it's pretty labour-intensive..looking at the data alone gives me headache n makes me wanna puke now..realised i dun really like admin stuff..prefer to be constantly in action tat kind..u know..doing lab work instead of simulating and tabulating stuff..pretty monotonous. den there's this graduate student who is supposed to be helping me out and giving me some advice..but..no..it turns out that i've to help her do stuff so..more work..haha now i miss the times when i just work alone on this project..but again..research can never be done alone..we need to cooperate as a group to get things done and get sth out of all this work..所谓团结就是力量！but erm..we need to learn how to unite first la..else nothing can be done..realised tat nowadays pple prefer to just do their own stuff..forgot abt the importance of teamwork..including me i guess..=p ok..enuf of my constant grumblings..*grumbles*

next thing up is my project "p" which is going on lately..basically i have to start packing my room..simply too messy and too much things!! started packing ytd and it was not as tedious as i tot..i pretty much enjoyed it..coz i dug up lots of old stuff that reminded me of all the memories, which i have long forgotten..and i can better appreciate some things and people. it's amazing how the same thing can hold so different a significance for me after all these years..interesting..=) looking forward to phase II of my packing project..think i'll be able to find more memories buried beneath..=)

realised tat now i'm better able to accept some things as they are..sometimes acceptance and understanding may make things much less complicated and agonising than always trying to change them..which will make the situation worse..wat's the point?

miss germany sooo much..back for almost 2 mths now..but..feels like it has been yearzzzz...guess a coin always have 2 sides..now seriously considering about my future after my graduation..was soll ich tun? something to seriously start planning for.

i really feel bad about not living up to my loved ones' expectations..coz they are always so supportive of me no matter wat i do..therefore i always tell myself tat i muz succeed..i dun wanna let them down..it feels terrible, as if i'm being torn apart..feel like screaming to let it all out!! n u're right hunny..i do hate failures much as i would like to disagree with tat..ya..the taste of failure is indeed horrible..im sorry..i really tried..maybe i'm juz not good enough..sorry to have wasted all ur time n effort..actually i'm very very disappointed with myself too..tot i could do better..maybe im not as good as i thought after all..but i'll still continue to work on it..coz it's where my interest lies.

im back blogging!
it was raining all day long..since last night!! n this morning i was sooo reluctant to wake up..coz my bed felt so cosy n warm..so glad tat my class was in the afternoon today. =)
my fyp is going slow but well under control up till now..planning to get started real real soon as soon as my buffer arrives from US..cant wait to start!! sometimes i really wish i could be in a research lab like everybody else..coz being alone in the lab can be really lonely at times. but thanks to the lab technicians, i still have a bit of fun company! so far so good..only tat i get pretty stressed when i see frens all rushing off to their labs right after lectures..dun they need to eat..makes me feel so slack..=p
n n N..met a really kind soul today! he's the bus-driver of bus 188! thank you uncle! i was trying to jay-walk (oops..) across to the bus-stop while it was raining n the cars were like zooming in front of me non-stop..when i saw my bus! i tot it will juz leave like any other buses i've experienced before..n start to walk slowly towards the back of the bus so i dun see it leaving..but..but..he actually waited for me and opened the door for me..tat moment..i was so touched by this act of kindness..it really brightened up my day! suddenly the gloomy skies dun look so dark after all..sb once commented to me, im too easily excited..happy over little things. but it's all this little simple happiness that i truly treasure..=) i feel tat bus drivers should use their own discretion and decide whether or not they are able to wait a few seconds..i've seen some who simply drove away although the person is right in front of the door..i mean..it won't hurt a bit to spare some thought for others right..instead, it may do wonders n make a difference to someone else's day! so..why not? the same goes for us..if we always spare a little thought for other people..the world, or rather, singapore will be a much more happier place to live in..and singaporeans will be much happier..juz read from the papers the other day tat singaporeans are among the least happy pple in asia..why is tat so? we may have so much but we want many much more. human desire. analogous to an endless pit. something which really makes me think.

It has been more than 1 week since I am back! haha no one seem to believe me but..yes I've indeed gained 7 kg..the weighing machine does not lie..=p
haven been blogging since the day I left munich..n tat sort of tells u how life in singapore has been. v happy to see my family n frens again..but feels tat something still seems to be missing..what exactly is it? i can't find an answer after pondering for so long..through these 4 mths I have not been here, i realised many things have changed..n i realised..even though u're not ard, life goes on..everything moves on..nothing ever stays there waiting for u. everyone seem to be always so busy with work n other stuff. all v stressed. i have been pushing myself to start my engine n do serious work..but somehow..feels tat sth is still left undone..
..have a presentation this wed..n i really am v v bad at presentations..had bad experiences all along..either I forget what I wanted to say, or I simply got killed during the Q&As. so..phobia for this wed's presentation..worried..=(
missed the days in munich..life seem to be happier then. but i guess it's time to come back to reality..i'm back in singapore la! =)

leaving isn't tat bad after all..esp when all my loved ones n frens r all in singapore..it's more of anticipation den reluctantness to leave. 4 months here..left my footprints all over europe and now it's time to leave. wat an experience..=) haha we threw away so many things!! i guess it's it's just impossible to bring everything back. now i'm worried that my luggage will overload..n i'll have to throw away more things..haha dunno wat else to say..brain cells all dead from the packing. =p

tiring..second last day in munich..

it has been a tiring day out..michelle left early this morning. so it's just me n xl left here. glad that xl's exam went well coz she really worked hard for it. =) we den went for the free tour ard munich this afternoon but ended up dropping out and shopping all day long..so tired..legs giving way soon..but still shop shop shop..*whine whine whine whine* (due to xl's influence..haha!) was busy shopping but din buy much..coz cant find anything i like..can really feel tat summer is gone..coz all the clothes on display now have been changed to thick wool clothings..so..no more summer clothes for me. marienplatz still as crowded as ever, tourists still flood the place as usual..reach home, quickly pack and cook , had a quick dinner with Johannes before we head down to Frottmanning to see the munich stadium, Arena, at night. it's beautiful, made us forget all our tireness n we went crazy snapping non-stop! 100 photos in 2 hrs! haha..=p so happy to witness the change of colours from blue to white to red den to blue again.
tmr's gonna be another long long day.
got so much things to pack.
some things cant be packed.
coz they'll give me a reason to be back.

countdown: 5 days more to singapore, my island home.
we're all in xl's room now n it's in a mess! haha very rare to see xl's room in a mess..=p
the weather has turned v v v cold..down by at least 20 degrees..cant believe the weather juz changed so drastically over the week. but im glad that summer is over. it was too hot for me. n i'll be thrown back onto immer sunny singapore v v soon so..i'll miss the cool weather.
juz had dinner n drinks with alex n his gf n the spanish n italians. now it really feels like im leaving this place v soon..though i miss home so..i cant bear to leave..so many things i haven done n so many places i haven been to. but on the other hand i've already been to quite a number of places so..i shall not complain any further.
simply love Germany more n more..esp after visiting Hamburg and Koeln..they're so happening n special in their own ways. have been travelling out of Germany for too much until i almost forgot abt germany. now that time is running out soon..i have decided to stay here n explore as much as i can..coz im not sure when's the next time i can be back here again..drink koelsch again..go wanderung as n when i like..day-dream in the S/U bahn..crazy shopping for groceries at martkauf..etc etc..frens here r leaving one by one as well..from a village population of 9..it's now down to 4 of us. n tmr..lw'll be going home too..on wed michelle will be gone so it's left with me n xl. wonder when the whole group of us can meet up again.
haha okok shall stop being nostalgic here..i shall make full use of my remaining days here n go home happily on the 11th. =)

juz got back from my trip!
n realised to my horror tat... i was not allocated any major modules at all!!!!!
so meaning i have no modules to study when i get back...they had reassured me that i was able to bid n now they tell me there was some confusion. so who can i ask for help from? all they reply me was "we appreciate ur interest but there are no more places.. ..." is this fair? i have placed my bids in the first round but was not being considered due to some administrative confusion. well done indeed. all this bidding stuff driving me nuts.

my exams r finally officially over!!
after dragging for a whole 1 mth..im now FREE!! the sweet smell of freedom..=)
n now an update of wat i've been up to for the last few weeks..
studying
trying to study
pretending to study
in summary...studying!!
haha...sounds pretty no life ya..indeed it is so.
i cant say i've studied hard..but..i did study after all. it was v stressful esp when i have been touching my books for the entire semester. with the lectures all in german, it really requires consistent work. else will end up like me. =p
yup, enough of exams. now im trying to pack..it's sad to be constantly reminded that i'll be leaving my room tmr..so tonight will be the last night in my room, the very place where i call home for the past 4 mths..it's hard to part with it..though the floor has not been cleaned for mths, my sink has this permanant ugly mark, the oven-like temperature tat seem to be toasting me every evening, the foul smell coming from my accumulated rubbish bags, my flooding shower sink that made my shampoo/shower foam bottles swim after every shower, weird types of mutant-like insects stuck to my ceiling at night n mysteriously disappearing in the morning, my next-door neighbor smoking at 2 fixed times of the day when the fumes start diffusing in..i'll miss my room..0827..once my home, always my home. =)
so now it's back to life with more travelling to be done! I'll be visiting my uncle n his family in Malmo, Sweden and den go on to travel germany! finally..my long-awaited COLOGNE!!! =D will be back in Munich on 6th Aug. den plan to travel to prague (heard the food there's good!) and Rothenburg. Das ist alles! pretty ambitious huh..haha tat's me. =p
ok i shall pack up and for my trip tmr as well..15hrs alone on the train to copenhagen..i'll be rotting..n stoning..while my frens in munich will be having dinner together..without me! =( but can't be helped. by the time im back..it's only half a village left..i'll definitely miss the company. really enjoyed those fun-filled times we shared. thank you guys! see u all back home in nus! =)

have been back in Freiburg over the weekend. n it was definitely a worthful trip, despite us all carrying the exam burden there n back. miss them so much! lisa n jonas have grown so much. nothing much has changed over the 2 yrs. it felt so much like home..just as it felt so 2 yrs ago. =)

Summer is great in a way tat I can see v beautiful sunsets here in my room. it's a superb view. there're different shades of colours in the sky..n can see the big "egg yolk" moving slowly down until the sky turns completely dark. It never fail to distract me from watever im doing. too mesmerising. makes me wonder how many more sunsets can i see here in munich..every sunset means one less day left here..but one day nearer to home..so it depends on how i look at it.

finally did washing today. n my room is full of clothes hanging everywhere now! practically anywhere n everywhere i think is possible to hang my clothes. yes there's a dryer downstairs but..i would have to wait for v v long..so decided to air-dry them instead. though there's no sun today..=) the state of my room now...3 words..IN A MESS! =p

n my first pair of dear ear ring..dropped into the sink..gone forever. it meant a lot to me..coz it's sth tat really belong to me. sth which i decided for myself. sth i did for myself. ... guess some things u juz cant help it. they happen. n i can do nothing but to accept it. accept the fact tat it's gone. but most pple cant, they'll go "i sld have... ... ...", "if only... ...". as if all that will help. argh..im too traumatised now to write anything that's making sense. sld go study..i sld!!

Germany lost...too.

Germany lost to Italy today..well..the game was pretty fair n square n Italy has played much better den i expected! so..no grumbles. it's juz feeling pretty upset tat all the teams i support has been officially ruled out plus today not in good mood. oh well..good. now i can fully concentrate on studying for exams. have papers on 13th, 24th and 26th before it's all over! my 4 mths of exchange here in germany..有点不舍得..coz have gotten so used to the life n pple here le. but it's great to be able to see all my dear frens n family n singapore again. so..mixed feelings. =) now still deciding whether i sld go sweden n denmark to travel after my exams coz tat wld mean more $ spent..hmm..=S but im definitely going Cologne no matter wat..i muz go! =)

i had my qualifying exam today. cant say tat i did myself proud but..i sort of qualified so..gd.
bought for myself a pair of papillo slippers today!! sehr pretty..like it a lot! =) feel like going shopping these days..my t shirts r slowly depleting themselves esp in this hot weather!
n we had KFC for dinner today!! ate 2 piece chicken set + whipped potato. first time i act cant finish my meal..mainly coz the potato taste weird n the fries r tasteless n the coleslaw is sour. but..the drinks r free flow! haha drink till full full. *BULP* =p

hmm..actually except from the disappointments n setbacks i got from the worldcup recently, everything is great here! met a few v v kind pple here who r willing to help me..thus making my life much better! arigato! =) haha n i met my fren's bf today in the mensa, not bad looking wo..haha too bad he's attached. but still i muz say..they look like a perfect couple! shall try to take a photo with them n show ur k! =) hee now my mood is much much better..tmr shall be a better day. or rather today. =)

how bad can things get..the three teams i support has all gone home. out of the worldcup 2006. maybe it is better off tat they're no longer in it. coz the worldcup itself is ugly. so wat if they win the cup..i'm not convinced at all. the good teams are all out. how good can the champion team be? wat is the significance of the worldcup? this worldcup has gave me too many disappointments n sad memories. seeing my favourite teams falling down one by one like dominos is really traumatising n heart-breaking. can't erase the disappointed looks of the players when they lost. the look of defeat. the tearing beckham. the cursing rooney. the kelong referees. the filthy french. the heart attacks from the penalty shootout. how bad can things get? two disappointments in a day is way..too much for me to bear. now my remaining wish is..please nv ever let the french win the worldcup!!!

it was painful.
now i finally know wat it's like to go all out supporting a team.
wanted n believed so much tat they'll trash France.

hee this is an entry entirely dedicated to the two matches ytd..might be boring so..skip if u have no interest in football k! =)

YAY! watched the england vs ecuador as well as portugal vs holland match ytd. on TV.
hee ur muz have found me slightly irritating but still i have to repeat..Beckham saved the day!! both England's n my day. =) haha coz if not for him, england wld have tied with ecuador. it was not qt a good match as most of the players r not v on form..but Beckham really went all out ytd. I was feeling slightly disillusioned after the first half, esp when i'm not in a v good mood. but..at the 60th minute, Beckham gave me hope with his awesome free kick!! i dun care how the others criticise him n stuff..i juz think he's one good leader + teammate to have. maybe i haven been watching football long enough ba..but it doesn't really matter. footballers generally look good when they score a goal, u can genuinely feel their joy! tat feeling is real..u can feel for the team..this is sth i treasure when i watch a match. =)

N i definitely din regret watching the portugal vs holland match too!! it was real exciting n aggressive!! every single minute of the game! much much prefer the portugal coach to the england one..well, some things juz cannot be perfect. the russian referee issued a total of 16 yellow cards n 4 red cards (2 for each team)!! we were all laughing when he kept issuing cards consecutively within min!! =O but the match was good. u can see that both teams are doing their best to try secure a place in the final 8. it was a tough match for both i suppose..though i tot portugal played better. was looking forward to watching ronaldo play but his thigh got cut n he was forced to leave the field..can see the reluctantness in his eyes as tears swelled up..he was apparently trying hard to stay in the game, can see the agony on his face as he ran. get well soon ya? =) after watching the match, i realised how violent a game of football can turned out to be..with lots of injuries n stuff..maybe tat's y it's more of a boy's game ba..=)

hallo all!
finally found time to blog abt my World Cup experience at Stuttgart on mon! =)
i was really shocked +happy to receive news tat we have gotten the tickets on sat as i did not dare to pin too much hope on it..hate to be disappointed. i was not! =) took a train to Stuttgart the morning i came back from Berlin.

This was my second time to Stuttgart, the first was during my immersion two years back. so it feels so familiar..the streets, the shops, the castle..seems like nothing has changed..except now it's much more crowded n lively due to the world cup. spanish supporters can be seen almost everywhere!! makes me have this sudden urge to go grab a jersey n join them in cheering n singing! =) we walked ard a bit, pinic at the park, went bmw museum to look look n ate 麻辣火锅 at this taiwan restaurant lw's frens recommended. it was good!!! one of the best meals i had so far in Germany! though the 珍珠奶茶 can be better...=) it was a spread, with seafood (prawns, crabs, shells, sotong, cuttlefish), pig's organs (pig's liver, kidney!!,stomach), meat （beef, pork meatballs), tofu n veg!! hope i din miss out anything...=p there was so so much food! haha eat till the four of us full full! love esp the chili n 麻辣汤!! drank till i choked! haha..好吃好吃! =)

reached the stadium at ard 8.30pm. the stadium was like WOW!! there were so many pple!! 52, 000 pple in all..all cheering for their team! wat a scene! we were sitting on the spanish side, behind the goalpost, where we witnessed 4 goals in all! =)

Being there at the stadium n watching the match live is v v diferent from watching it on tv, u get to have a more thorough view of the field n all the players. they seem so close to u..yet so far. n they look more human. haha not to say they dun look human on tv but..it's really different..to me they appear more human, maybe coz on tv they tend to retard the scenes n their actions a little..hmm..dunno if ur know wat i mean..coz i dunno wat im trying to say too..haha..but really..totally different experience..something good. =) i really got involved in the game..like we'll automatically stand when the ball comes rolling to our side n press our thumbs real hard! there isn't a second to feel bored at all! absolutely exciting!! =) haha..Spain won in the end!! wat a match..n we all went crazy dancing n singing n screaming..=p

N last but not least..loads n loads of thanks to our spanish frens: Inigo, Josu n Amaiya for this wonderful experience! mucha gracias..=)

love the place..it's the place where most of the modern world history lies. pretty disappointed tat i din get to visit the jewish memorial exhibition esp when i've passed by tat place for at least 4 times. =( but all in all, berlin is really an interesting place to be at, be it now or back in 1918. sehr "happening" place. it's a place where the SS and SA have marched, where Hitler has once lived and died. there's always so much to learn, so much to explore, so much to ponder abt..therefore resulting in me cant help but feel overwhelmed. the capital of germany indeed.

Summer is finally here in Munich!!! =)
seems like the sun is here to stay this time..
haha I can feel the heat in my room esp during the evenings when the sun sets..sehr warm!
really dunno to love the sun or to hate the heat..now i'm beginning to miss the cool weather.. =p
it seem only ytd tat we were experiencing 'ice rain' and 0 degrees weather..when suddenly one fine day it turned warm, reminding me tat yes, it's already mid-June. Summertime. n it's near to 3 months since i've been here. time flies.
haha i kept reminding myself tat it's high time to start some serious studies! but..always fail to do so..i seriously need more discipline! =p more travelling coming up..me n ling will be travelling to Berlin this weekend n Cologne+Bonn next weekend before Freiburg to visit my Gastfamilie. After which i'll try to stay in Munich to study before my Sweden trip in August!! really looking forward to it!! =)
haha i was really craving hard for guotie tat I tried to make them on Sunday. It really was not easy..a lot of effort involved.. from the dough to the meat filling to the wrapping up to the cooking part. all in total took me 1.5 days in all. but im pretty satisfied la, though it could have been better i guess judging from my 'guinea pig's' faces as they ate them..haha! =p still fail to make the ones i had in rv years ago..tat was the best guotie i've ever tasted. now i really appreciate those guotie stalls. real time-consuming. but it's good to make guotie when u dun feel like doing or thinking abt anything. at least it works for me. =)

Due to my sore throat during the trip..i din get to taste any belgium choc..but..we ate belgium choc waffle! sitting by the streets enjoying the red indian music in the background! =)
the Grand Place was magnificent! we spend most of our time in brussels walking ard it. guess it's the most crowded n happening place in brussels. for instance we saw this tall guy dressed in pink dress taped up like a mummy going ard asking pple to poke the balloons attached to him!?! believe it's some kinda dare or sth. n the nxt moment we see a guy pretending to be a dog crawling here n there. hmm..happening ya? =)
and the Manneken Pis..has such a well..not too glamorous story behind it tat made us all go "... ..."

A very very happening place indeed!! like this place a lot..or rather, i simply love holland! =)
reason being..there's good food, beautiful sights, pretty flowers, 'interesting' night sights n juz walking on the streets feels 'happening'! a slight disappointment though..tat i did not get to see the tulips bloom..the tulips fields were already bare at this time. the tulip season is over. i can only look at the postcards depicting the colourful tulip fields. i shall be back! for my tulips. =) however..i saw my windmills!! plenty of them along the river. dunno y but i juz like to watch them turn round n round n round. i can never get bored of it..find it a pretty sight. =)

haha it had certainly been a crazy night for all of us: non stop drinking n dancing at 4004.
we were back only at 5+am on the first train. n i fell aslp while showering..come to think of it..it was really crazy!!!

short update on wat i've been doing since holland trip:

7th june ..Me, ling, yan n lw were back here on the 7th. we were all suffering from either sore throat/ flu when we got back. think it started coz of me..guess i passed the virus ard us pple. really glad we r all fine now..really in bad shape for our thursday class. walking zombies. n i have to declare..after 3 weeks of non-stop travelling..i've had quite enuf of travelling. juz wanna stay here for good n rediscover the thrill of travelling in me. tried to live life peacefully n tried to study like i sld..until......... ........... ............

9th june ..opening of the world cup 2006!! wow!! the opening match's here in munich!! due to communication breakdown, i ended up alone at the olympiazentrum gates, it was then that i realised national day parade in singapore was not tat bad after all..they really squeeze u like sardines here..dun care if u're a gal/guy, juz squeeze to get in!! pretty horrible those pple. i almost gave up hope..long stopped struggling when some guys pushed down the barricade and started to rush in!! wat a sight..tot i will only see this in singapore..this ugly scene..alt+ctrl+delete pls..so in the end i managed to get in. it was another WOW inside..there're sooo sooo many pple in there!! made me feel tat all those squeezing were worthwhile after all..n there was a big screen to watch the match Germany VS Costa Rica. =)

10th june ..we watched the match England VS Paraguay!! I was very much impressed by Beckham..to my surprise. he look much much older, those eyes..but still charming enough as he step onto the football field. used to dislike him..as tot he only has the look but no ability..but i was proven wrong. haha hope to buy him over to my team now! =) really hope England will make it to the top 8..jiayou!! finally got all the london photos today! haha some of them really look funny..but still, nice shots. we were really photo freaks!! took almost 500 photos!! =O haha cant believe im missing london already..tower bridge i'll be back!! =)

i plan to travel Germany the whole of June. Places on my "muz go" list: Cologne, Bonn, Berlin. not too ambitious ya? sort of given up on Barcelona..way beyond my reach..=( yinky may be coming over in july..looking forward to her arrival! =)

haha i'm just here to complain..so it's ok to ignore this post ;)
after being under the sun for 1 week, it's now back to the cold again!!
it was really v v cold ytd. 0-3 degrees! *shivers* n when i got back to studentenstadt, it was raining ice! haha reminds me of ice-kachang..=)
was v happy to be back to class finally..i really miss having lessons..when the bad news came. nvm.
haha dear yinky called when i was waiting for the train n i was soooo excited tat i think my voice got a bit too loud..coz the other pple was like staring at me..so ps..=p but i was really happy to hear her voice..though it's only for 2 minutes. =)
had a great time eating dinner..there's teriyaki chicken + tofu + patata + miso soup + kang kong! n we had choc wine + ice cream + tau suan (v gd attempt by xl!) for dessert! haha maybe i ate too much..tat's y..sore throat strikes!! =( n it's such a bad time to have sore throat..coz tmr i should be in Belgium enjoying chocolates..can i still?

hallo!!!

im back...for 3 days! haha..=p

we went rome n florence this time round! =)

i like the ruins + architecture in rome. everything is brown in colour.
it's a well-preserved place..they try to keep everything the way they were.
haha but i wished i have read up more about roman history before i went. n most of the latin words i do not understand. overwhelmed. guess i prefer the atmosphere in florence..haha not coz of the shopping k...juz tat i feel i can breathe better. =)

i spend so much time eating n eating in florence!!! but there's a very nice restaurant which i would recommend to anybody going florence! we ate 3 meals there n all were very much satisfying esp the seafood pasta maxi!! lecker! =)

haha on the whole overdose of pasta n pizza n alcohol the past week. stomach calling for break. =p

once we were back..we had a nice dinner of porridge, cauliflower, veg soup, chicken soup n some liquid bread. head feel heavy. shall go grab more slp before my class. will be back with more photos! ciao! =)

haha tmr i'll be leaving for Rome n Florence for 1 week!
dun bash me..but i sort of miss my german lectures..haha =p
i called home today, v v happy to hear mum's chirpy voice..sld call home more often! but she was really surprised to hear tat i'm going away again! haha..=)
n yup! i got to watch my "da vinci code" today as well! it was kinda disappointing for me..i was expecting better..lesson learnt: "nv have too high expectation..u might be disappointed."
we had dinner at sushi sano. tried sake. taste good! esp when u finish in one big gulp. simply flows down smoothly leaving a trace of sweetness in ur throat..yummy yummy. =)

hallo!
im back in munich! happy..=)
haha i cant believe i miss here so much..
thought it has only been a week..but it feels like i've been away for sooo long..
everything seem to have changed. the bahnhof, the air... ...
but my room still feels as cosy n looks as messy as ever la. =p

it has been a fun trip definitely.
we really made full use of each day.
non stop travel for 1 week.
pretty tiring but it's worth it..=)
